Why Univyze exists
Why we built this
College planning shouldn’t feel like guesswork—but it often does.
When I was choosing my own classes, I realized how hard it was to visualize everything clearly. Every tool I tried felt scattered, confusing, or disconnected from real course availability.
A friend stayed an extra semester because his plan fell apart: required classes weren’t available, advisors were overloaded, and every change reset the whole path. The financial hit was real—and so was the stress.
After hearing stories like his, I realized something larger: students aren’t failing at planning. The system is failing students.
That frustration became the spark for Univyze.
The problem today
Most students are forced to juggle:
- Hundreds of class options and prerequisites buried in PDFs and portals
- Advisors who are stretched thin and can’t always go deep with each student
- Classes that fill up before you get in — or only run certain terms
- Unexpected changes like switching majors, studying abroad, or retaking a class
- The very real cost of taking even one extra semester
Most students are doing all of this with tools that weren’t built for them — scattered spreadsheets, outdated portals, or last-minute guesswork.
It’s no surprise planning feels overwhelming.
What Univyze does
Our platform automatically maps real course availability to your degree requirements, so you can:
- Build a complete plan that satisfies your major, minor, and graduation requirements
- Create schedules that match your personal day & time preferences
- Explore early-graduation paths or plan major/minor changes with confidence
- Easily adjust your plan when life changes — switching majors, studying abroad, retaking a class, or stacking credits early
- Track your progress semester by semester, instead of wondering if you’re still “on track”
Your academic journey becomes something you can actually see, understand, and control.
Who we serve
Univyze is built for:
- Students who want a clear roadmap instead of last-minute scrambling
- Parents who want transparency and confidence in the path to graduation
- Advisors and mentors who want a better way to help students plan complex paths
- Anyone who wants to avoid the stress, cost, and uncertainty of poor planning
We believe every student deserves clarity — not luck — when building their future.
Our mission
Univyze automates degree planning by mapping course availability to your requirements:
- Optimizes schedules to fit individual preferences and commitments
- Adapts gracefully when plans change — majors, minors, schools, or life events
- Supports every student through life’s unexpected turns without starting from scratch
We empower students with clarity, confidence, and control over their academic journey.
Where we’re going
We envision a world where every student — no matter their major, advisor, or school — can make informed academic decisions without uncertainty.
A world where course planning is no longer a barrier, but a tool for opportunity:
- Less time lost to confusion and trial-and-error
- Fewer surprise semesters and preventable delays
- More students graduating on time, with paths aligned to their goals
You shouldn’t need luck or a perfect advisor to graduate on time. You should just need a clear plan.
How we’ll keep improving
Univyze will continue to grow alongside the students we serve:
- Deeper integrations with schools, catalogs, and advising offices
- More powerful “what-if” tools for double majors, transfers, and non-traditional paths
- Features that help families understand the financial impact of every decision
We’re building Univyze not just as software, but as a long-term partner in the decisions that shape a student’s life.
