Univyze Inc. (“Univyze,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides academic-planning software that helps students organize degree requirements, plan courses, and optimize their path to graduation. We collect information that you voluntarily provide when you create an account, edit your profile, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with the Services. This may include:

- Profile photo (if you choose to upload one);
- University, college, or institution;
- Declared or prospective major(s), double major(s), minor(s), and concentration(s);
- Class preferences (e.g., time of day, days of the week);
- Expected grades or grade targets (if you choose to provide them);
- Course selections, saved schedules, and planning choices;
- Graduation-related goals and preferences (e.g., target graduation term, desire to finish early);
- Parent or guardian contact details or access permissions;
- Messages or attachments you send to customer support.
2.2 Academic & Planning Data
To generate accurate academic plans and recommendations, we collect and store academic and planning data such as:
- Manually entered class schedules and term-by-term course selections;
- Stored 4-year (or multi-year) plans and class maps;
- Information you enter about transfer credits, AP/IB credits, study-abroad credits, or dual-enrollment work;
- Course availability windows, rotations, and prerequisites (where supported);
- Progress analytics and forecasts, including estimated time to degree;
- Milestone data (e.g., anticipated completion of core or major requirements);
- Preferences for early graduation, summer sessions, interterms, or online courses.
This data is typically tied to your account and is used to help you understand options and trade-offs in your academic path.
2.3 Payment Information
When you purchase a subscription or plan, payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store or process full payment card numbers on our own servers.
Stripe may collect and process information such as:
- Payment card details (e.g., card number, expiration date);
- Billing address and contact information;
- Transaction identifiers and timestamps;
- Fraud-prevention and security data.

- Send optional product tips, feature announcements, or surveys (you may opt out of non-essential emails).
3.3 Legal, Safety & Compliance

- Protect the rights, property, and safety of our users, Univyze, or the public.

6. Parental Access & Users Under 18
Univyze is designed primarily for college and university students, but some users may be under 18 (for example, dual-enrollment or early-college students).
6.1 Students Under 18
- Students under 18 may create an account with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.
- We do not knowingly collect sensitive information from minors and encourage families to review account settings together.
6.2 Parent or Guardian Access
- Parents or guardians may receive access only if the student grants explicit permission within the Service.
- Students may revoke parent or guardian access at any time through their account settings or by contacting us.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as it is reasonably necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
- Core account and planning data are generally retained for up to 2 years after account deletion, unless you request permanent deletion sooner.
- Support messages are typically stored for about 1 month, except where a user chooses to keep ongoing history or where longer retention is needed for troubleshooting or legal purposes.
- Backup copies may persist for a limited time in encrypted archives for security and disaster-recovery purposes.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information. These can include the right to:

- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions;

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Univyze is currently operated from the United States, and your information may be processed and stored in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers are located. The Services may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources that are not owned or controlled by Univyze. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party properties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with any personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:
